In my last blog, I shared why I am going on the World Race and how God has been leading me to this point. Today, I get to share one of the first ways I have already seen God move. One of my favorite parts of this season of preparation has been getting to watch God provide through His people.
When I first began fundraising for the World Race, I knew that God would provide. I knew that if He was calling me to this, He would also be faithful to make a way. But if I’m being honest, I had no idea how in the world that was gonna happen. Nineteen thousand is a big number, but I’m sure glad we serve a big God. Fundraising has been a huge step of faith for me. It requires vulnerability, trust, and a willingness to invite others into something God is doing. But through this process, God has continually reminded me that this mission was never meant to be accomplished alone.
Missions has always been a partnership. Throughout Scripture, we see people being sent out by God with communities behind them– people who prayed, encouraged, and supported the work of the Gospel. The people who sent, the people who went, and the people who supported were all participating in the same mission.
And I have been so blessed to experience that firsthand. So many donations have come in from so many people all across the timeline of my story. From friends and family now, all the way back to people who supported my parents when they stepped out in faith and moved us to Kenya!
As of today, August 6th, I have raised $12,180 out of the $19,700 needed for my trip!
To everyone who has already partnered with me: thank you!! Whether you gave financially, committed to praying for me, shared my story with others, or simply encouraged me along the way, please know that you are a part of this journey. You are not just supporting me– you are participating in what God is doing. I am amazed by the number of people God has used to support me and the work He is already doing through this trip.
While I am so excited to celebrate how far God has brought me, there is still more work to do! I am not fully funded yet, but I know that God is faithful to finish what He started and will continue providing through His people.
If you haven’t had the opportunity to read my support letter yet, I would love for you to learn more of the details about what the World Race is and how you can participate. It would mean the world to me if you would take a few minutes to read it and then spend some time in prayer and listen for how God might be leading you to partner with me through prayer or financial support.
I also have a fun way for you to be reminded that you are part of this team! I recently launched a T-shirt fundraiser!
These shirts are helping raise funds for my trip, but my hope is that they become so much more than just a fundraiser. I wanted something that would remind everyone wearing it that they are a part of this mission alongside me.
If you read my letter or my last blog, you’ll know that Revelation 7 has been a theme passage for me throughout this entire preparation process, so I knew I wanted it represented on this shirt. The design includes a palm branch and a crown as a reminder of the scene in Revelation 7- the people of God worshiping before their King. The phrase on the back, “Every Nation Tribe and Tongue,” is a reminder of the bigger picture we are all a part of and the goal we are reaching towards.
**Bonus fun fact: my squad’s color is green, and so is the shirt :)
If you know me, you know I absolutely LOVE T-shirts and that I have way too many of them. I love being able to wear something that helps me remember Truth or a special experience; something that holds a lot of meaning. But my favorite t-shirts are the ones that start conversations. I love when someone asks me about my shirt and I get the opportunity to share a little bit of Jesus with them. My prayer is that every time someone wears this shirt, it serves as a reminder to pray for the nations, to remember God's heart for His people, and to know that they are helping send the Gospel around the world. And maybe, Lord-willing, these shirts will spark a conversation with the person behind you :)
But here’s the kicker: I want to get these to you all before I leave, which means this sale is not going to be open long! In order to leave time for the shirts to be made, shipped to me, and then passed out to all of you, I have to place the order on August 11th. So get your orders in now!
Check them out here –I’ve even got sizes for the kiddos!
Thank you again for being a part of this journey. I am continually amazed by God’s faithfulness and the ways He chooses to work through His people. Please continue praying for me as I prepare to leave, and I cannot wait to share more of the ways God moves in the months ahead. The next blog you see from me might be from training camp!
For every nation, tribe, and tongue!
